I really wanted to like this book. The premise is interesting, the murder sounded good. I was ready to be entertained and… meh. All the usual hit points were there, but everything just fell flat.
The main character, Nell ward, overhears a murder, not realizing at the time what it was. She then is found suspect and has to clear her name while keeping her own secrets.
The set up was great and the writing well enough, but the actual murderer was easy to guess and the resolution was far-fetched. Also, I couldn’t tell the competing romantic interests apart. They were like the same person, just with different hair color.
I might read the next book, just to see if it gets a little richer. This one was not for me.
