McKinley is a must-read for fantasy lovers. Her stories are rich, creative, and set the standard for fantasy fiction for young adults and adults alike.
Harry does her best to conform to her new life in Damar, but she longs to escape to the barren beauty of the desert. When she meets Corlath, a Hillfolk leader, she becomes entangled in their fight against an encroaching evil.
The Blue Sword has all the classic fantasy elements, done up with McKinley’s deft hand and rich details. Highly recommend, not only for strong young women, but all lovers of the genre.
