Since 3/4 of our household goes back-to-school every September, the month feels more like the true start of our year than January. Getting new clothes and supplies, finishing up summer projects, and squeezing in last minute adventures makes August super busy. Then comes September and… bliss! Empty house, cooler weather, and an excuse to sip cocoa and read books.
As you can see, not much writing being done. Not only were the days full of mountains, mouse ears, and bears, but I just finished a big project!
The Lost Hero, which has been coming out in episodes for paid subscribers, will be released for sale on November 3rd!
You can pre-order the eBook on Amazon. It’s also releasing as a Kindle Unlimited. I’m trying to get the hard- and paper-back sorted out, but apparently the cover is 0.02 mm too big? IDK. The struggles of self-publishing.
If you enjoyed this post, please consider subscribing. I post original short stories, book reviews, and writing advice, as well as my process as I edit my newest novel, Warrior of the Dusk. I will be querying it for traditional publication; subscribe to follow along as I work through that whole process.
Paid subscribers receive access to my complete, full-length fantasy novel, The Lost Hero, the first in my new fantasy series. Paid subscribers can get a free copy when it releases for publishing on November 3rd, 2023!
Archer 887, the first book in the Archer series, was a 2022 Indies Today Awards Contest Finalist, and is on sale now through online book retailers. Pick up a copy, leave a review, and let me know what you think! The next Archer book, Vanguard, will release in 2024.
Follow me on socials (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest) and never miss a post!
I also write about my work as an RN on my Substack: This Is My Nurse Face. Crazy stories, advice, and vents about inpatient nursing. Blood, guts, snort laughing: all the best things.
Thanks for reading!
I’m jealous of your September bliss! I’m a teacher so my Septembers are the opposite of peaceful bliss, lol.
Glad to meet you at PNWA :)
Yay for The Last Hero coming out! Looks like you’ve got a lot of heroes at home to inspire you (plus Darth Vader, but he was the hero of his own story, right?)
